Control - Cascading Selection

The cascading selection control is based on the value of the previous selection and displays only the corresponding option in the later options.

Scenario​

For example, for a province-city-county selection, when Henan Province is selected, the available options for the urban area will only show the cities that belong to Henan Province.

After selecting the cascading selection control, you need to configure the data source. The data source is essentially a worksheet containing an org view.

Configuration​

In the customer worksheet, you need to mark the region where the customer is located to facilitate statistics by region.

1. Add the cascading selection control​

2. Select the data source​

There are two ways as follows:

  • Add a new data source worksheet directly, and there is an org view in the new worksheet.
  • Select an existing worksheet with an org view as the data source.

When selecting an existing worksheet as a data source, the worksheet must already be configured with an org view associated with the current worksheet.

How to configure the org view

Let's take the new data source as an example and click [OK] to continue the configuration.

A. Modify the name of the field   

B. Data source

Here you select the automatically created worksheet and org view. It is displayed as Data Source - Date/Time, which is automatically marked as hidden and not in the normal user's navigation.

Cascade menu: Show each level horizontally

Tree selection: Show each level vertically

D: Setting

  • Select to the final level

    For example, for Jinshui District-Zhengzhou City-Henan Province, there are three levels in total. If checked, you must check the third level when you select it to end. If unchecked, you can select only the province, or choose province-city as well (this setting is not available for tree selection).

  • Results display hierarchy path

    • If checked, the fields are displayed as Jinshui District/Zhengzhou City/Henan Province.
    • If unchecked, only the last level, Jinshui District, is displayed.

  • Filter selection range

    This is actually to set the selectable range of records in the data source worksheet.
